The Department of Personalized Learning

The mission of the CPS Department of Personalized Learning is to provide schools and educators with the resources, supports, and professional development opportunities needed to adopt personalized learning – a learner-driven instructional model that fosters 21st century skills by empowering every student to actively co-design their learning path, pace, and environment according to their individual strengths, needs, and interests.

Why Personalized Learning?

As educators, it is our responsibility to provide a rigorous, holistic, and personalized education that empowers every single student. Personalized learning aims to create equitable access to excellent instruction and resources across all classrooms and schools. The CPS Department of Personalized Learning supports innovative schools with opportunities to redefine the traditional school model in a way that meets the needs of each student, school, and community.
